The first talk in the Church camp was a little about the lack of ‘fire’ in a Christian life.
As we went on in our small group discussions… this is what we shared as the presenting signs of a Christian life without the fire:
1. No power of transformation – going for church/cell group for a long time, but no change
2. No hunger for God’s Word – reading because we should or have to, but not because we want to
3. No heart to serve – either not serving because we recognise the lack of fire, or had a burn-out, or serving by ‘waving a lantern madly with no light in it’ (I’m sure you get the illustration)
4. No chance of ever wanting to preach the gospel – because honestly it doesn’t even seem to be within us
Do you feel like that? What then should we do? Change the environment? Quit? Just keep suffering and press on?
We had a few suggestions, but maybe it’d be good to hear what you think
