We are loved!

“Therefore, behold, I will hedge up your way with thorns, and wall her in, so that she cannot find her paths. She will chase her lovers, But not overtake them; Yes she will seek them, but not find them. Then she will say, ‘I will go and return to my first husband, for then it was better for me than now.’ – Hosea 2:6-7

We are adulterers. Being the bride of Christ yet we sin again and again and again. We chase other lovers because we are so blinded by our lusts. Yet God’s love is so amazing that He will not let us stray, but He will fight us so that we will return to Him. I was watching the show “fireproof” yesterday and in the middle of the show, the verse above came to mind. In the show, a married woman was tempted to start a relationship with another man because of her “failing” marriage. We are often like the woman in the show. We look for fulfillment yet we don’t truly know what leading a fulfilling life REALLY means. We look for love when in fact we got no clue of what (or who) true love is. We are lost without our shepherd. We are liars without God (Romans 3:4)

While watching the show, I was even more overwhelmed by the reminder that God instituted marriage to give us a glimpse of His love for us. Marriage is such a beautiful thing 🙂 God’s love for His bride is tremendously more than the most loving husband’s love for his wife. In marriage, the husband is called to love his wife for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, unconditionally. And that’s just a glimpse of God’s Love! Wonderful isn’t it? Jesus loves us even though we are SO undeserving. Check out the clip below 🙂

Come on guys! Let’s stop pursuing other lovers and come back to Jesus! Come back to the love of
