In the last post – here – we mentioned that calling has to be defined by a Caller
And in this case, it is God the Father, through God the Son, in the power of God the Spirit
Calling also implies that there was a location or state of being that one was in before one is called to something else
1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
Galatians 5:13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
John 17:6 “I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. ”
We are called into a new place, a new state of being. We are called out of sin, out of darkness, out of the world.
Therefore calling cannot merely be about what job you do… but a whole transformative power that changes everything about your life – including your job!
1 John 3:1 See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
We are called to be children of God… that changes everything.
