I just returned from army training in Brunei. I struggled in my prayer life there, and recently listened to a sermon on “The Gethesemane Prayer” (in Chapter 14, the Gospel of Mark) by Pastor Mark Driscoll (Mars Hill Church).
I thought I’d share two prominent points about prayer that he raised:
1) Do you pray to get from God or to get God?
2) Do you pray to move God or for God to move you.
This is a really short post but the two questions go deeper than they probably seem at first read. Take some time to consider them in all aspects of your life!
Prayer may not change things for you, but it for sure changes you for things. ~Samuel M. Shoemaker
